The rewards and benefits of mining come in all different shapes and sizes. Quite frankly, the term “mining” can be applied to almost anything in life that requires hard work and sacrifice to achieve something else. Let me explain.
When you actually mine for precious ore and metals, you’re expending energy, time, and even materials to produce the yield of ore and metals. Those materials are the fruits of your labor and ultimately there is some value to receiving that reward. It’s not always monetary but when we really look at what value means to us, it justifies the time and effort put into achieving the reward.
Now if we apply this to sports, for example, an athlete puts time into training and becoming a better version of themselves. It’s quite simple, the reward here is being better than their competitors or themselves. There is no shortcut and there is no sacrifice to hard work. When we apply ourselves towards a reward or benefit, we have to stay focused and committed to the end goal, whatever that may be. At the end of the day, we walk away with a feeling of accomplishment and gratification knowing that we’re moving in the right direction.
So in a sense, we’re all miners at heart, we’re just mining for different things.
I’m interested to hear about what you’re mining for, gold looks different to every single one of us and I would love to know what yours looks like.
